Agreement of Expectations for our Attendees:
We expect all event participants to uphold the principles of this Agreement of Expectation. The Expectations apply to all aspects of the main event and any related activities, whether digital or in person.
While attending the in-person or online Homeschool Connection Conference (HCC) as a participant HCC expects that our community members will:
Respect other participants
Communicate openly and thoughtfully and encourage others to do the same
Be considerate of the ideas and thoughts of other attendees if they differ from your own
Be courteous to everyone
Respect the rules and policies of the venue
Homeschool Connection Conference (HCC) does not tolerate the following:
Behavior that is disruptive, disrespectful, or degrading to others, including any messages, images, or interactions by anyone, in any form, regardless of location.
Harassment or discrimination based on age, sex, ancestry, color, national origin, physical or mental disability, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Harassment, intimidation, threats, violence, or offensive/unwelcome behavior (including invasion of privacy) towards other participants in any form, including physically, sexually, verbally, and in writing (text messages, emails, social media posts, chats during virtual presentations, etc.)
Use of drugs or alcohol during the event or related social events that could result in behavior that violates this Agreement of Expectations.
Failure to obey any rules or regulations of the Event Venue.
We encourage everyone to assist in creating a welcoming and safe environment. Please report any concerns, harassing behavior, or suspicious or disruptive activity to the nearest Event Staff or Venue Staff.
Please contact us at any time if you feel anything or anyone does not follow this Agreement of Expectations or is inconsistent with HCC’s culture.
Homeschool Connection Conference reserves the right to refuse admittance to or remove any person from the event at any time at its sole discretion.
Failure to comply consequences:
Immoral behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop such behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a Participant engages in immoral behavior, HCC and/or the Event Venue may take any action it deems appropriate, including warning or expelling the offender from the event with no refund. For more egregious behavior, the Event Host may, in its reasonable discretion, temporarily ban or permanently expel a Participant from future events.
Homeschool Connection Conference Event Release, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement
You must read and agree to this Release of Liability before finalizing your registration for the event. If you do not consent to this agreement, your registration will be canceled.
In consideration of being permitted to attend the Homeschool Connection Conference (“HCC”), and on behalf of myself and my minor children as well as any minor children attending with me and identified below (collectively “Participants”), I hereby:
1. Agree to indemnify and save and hold the Homeschool Connection Conference their organizers, partners, employees, volunteers, and agents (collectively “HCC”) harmless from any liability, loss, damage, or cost that may occur or be incurred due to the Participants' participation in the HCC Event;
2. Release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue HCC from all liability to Participants for any loss or damages, and any claim or demands on account of injury to or resulting in the death of Participants, whether caused by the negligence of HCC or of any other person;
3. Assume full responsibility for and risk of bodily injury or death, whether due to the negligence of the HCC or otherwise. I expressly acknowledge and understand that accidents and injuries may occur while at the HCC Event and expressly assume all of the risks due to the negligence of HCC and any others participating or contributing to the HCC Event;
4. Expressly agree, permit and assume the risk of any medical treatment which may be rendered and agree to expressly release and indemnify HCC from any liability for providing, or failing to provide, any emergency medical treatment;
5. I understand that I am solely responsible for the welfare and safety of myself and my minor children or any minor children accompanying me to the HCC Event, and I agree to supervise my minor children or any minor children accompanying me to HCC, and that HCC shall have no obligation to supervise Participants or any other individuals attending the HCC Event. I further understand that HCC will not provide insurance for Participants at the HCC Event and that Participants' personal insurance will apply;
6. I agree to help encourage a safe and respectful atmosphere at the HCC Event by discussing with my family the responsibilities of being in a group that consists of a variety of ages -- young children, teens, and adults. I agree to refrain from engaging in illegal activities of any kind, and I understand that I am solely responsible for the activities of myself and my minor children and any minor children accompanying me to the HCC Event;
7. I understand that Participants often take photos during the HCC Event, and I agree that these photos may be used on HCC's website, on related websites, and in HCC publications. I further expressly agree that the foregoing release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of California and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
I have read and fully understand its content and voluntarily consent to this release, waiver, and indemnity agreement. I further agree that no oral representations, statements, or inducement apart from the foregoing written agreement have been made.
